Multicultural v Multiculturalism

Having a diverse ‘multicultural' society founded on the principles of assimilation is a good thing. However, 'Multicultural-ISM' is divisive and will tear a society apart from within.

EU Bureaucracy

The EU is simply another tremendously expensive layer of mostly unnecessary gov't. For example, according to MEP Jean Lambert ( jeanlambertmep.org.uk/mep-pay.php ), total costs for each of the 750+ MEP's in Brussels is:

Salary: €7,900 euro per month
General Allowance Expense: €4,300 per month
Staff Costs: €21,209 per month
Daily Attendance Allowance: €304 per day
Travel Allowance: €30,000+ annually
Personal Travel Allowance: €4200+ annually

Now, this is JUST for the MEP's. It does not include all the unelected officials, such as judges, advisers, etc. etc. For example, an EU judge is on over €20,000 PER MONTH!!!

Add the above up, multiply it by 750+ and you'll get a good idea who hard working people are sending their pennies to. Outrageous, 'Nuff

Obama: Our Court Jester

Touchstone of transparency...close Guantanamo Bay...if you like your plan, you can keep your plan...like your doctor, keep your doctor... $2500.00 per year average savings on health insurance...IRS scandal...Benghazi tragedy...domestic drone program...NSA destruction of right to privacy...highest corporate tax rate on earth...$17,000,000,000,000 debt...total disregard for the constitution via pen, telephone and executive order... fast and furious, and on and on and on... all while his minions constantly tell us how supposedly smart he is. Crafty, maybe. Cunning, for sure. Duplicitous, count on it. Smart, I highly doubt it. Hail to the Fraudster in Chief

Cholesterol, Statins & Snake Oil Salesmen

Burnsy, my liver genetically produces four times as much bad cholesterol than it needs to. No amount of diet, excercise or snakeoil will bring it down to a normal level, without the help of statins. The only side effect I got from my initial prescription was minor fatigue. My doctor changed me to another statin and I'm now right as rain with cholesterol down to normal levels. Beware of over zealous 'nutritionists' promising the world. My father died way too early due to high cholesterol before statins were widely available. Please remind mr natural that alchemy died out with the plague. Great show and best of regards, Anson Bentley in Bridlington

Disillusioned Man

Unfortunately, after half a lifetime of interaction with my species, I have lost a great proportion of the ability to feel any humanity toward them.

Old School Democrats - Where Did You Go?

I grew up in the late sixties and seventies in California under the guidance of my staunch card carrying democrat, carpenters union member father who was a very honorable, loyal, charitable and intelligent man. He taught me many things, including to help set up a foundation for my future political views. Although I now class myself a conservative/independent (NOT republican), my aforementioned roots still guide me today. One may ask, 'how could this be?' and my answer would be that the democratic party today resembles very little of the party and its platform that existed only a few decades ago. I attribute this to many things, not the least of which would include the envelopment of the party by the so called 'hippy' generation that is in control/power today. This once great party of patriotic, self-reliant, responsible and empathetic hard working class of Americans has been dissolved and transformed in great measure by opportunistic, excuse making, whimpering ideologues. This new 'where is mine, gimmee, gimmee, gimmee' generation would most definitely not be included in the ideals of the majority of the party he associated with. Not to put words in his mouth, however, those who knew him would positively agree that he was if favor of the following:

For example, some of the tenets he adhered to: Workfare, not welfare, including a legitimate safety net instead of a generational handout lifestyle; strong military; patriotism; traditional family ideals; individualism; true workers rights and representation, not the lining of politically motivated union leaders pockets; adoption instead of abortion, unless the life of the mother was in danger or rape, incest and the like occurred; victims rights, not criminals; balanced budgets, not ever increasing so called debt limits; right to bear arms; for the death penalty; hunting rights; American exceptionalism; strong but fair immigration policy and on and on and on.

Now, it must be said, I have many members of my family who are absolutely wonderful people and are adherents of the modern day democratic president and party but who, however, most probably agree with many of the tenets laid out above. This does not mean that I don't love 'em to bits, but it does mean that I hope they 'see the error of their ways' and come back home soon. :-)

These are many of the things I respect and hold dear. Whatever we call ourselves, I'm sure many of us can agree, the principles laid above, for the most part, are unifying for those of us who grew up in the 'good ole days'.

Again, 'Old School Democrats...Where did you go?' I'm not too sure, but they'd be welcome in my house anytime.

Syria Nightmare

You think Iraq was a spider web and mistake, this, in my opinion, could prove a cluster**** of epic proportions and be the catalyst for all hell breaking loose over there in that hellhole of a tinderbox.
