It has been my suspicion for many years that there is a bias, especially in the mainstream television media in America.( ABC, CBS, NBC) What is interesting to me, is that one of the most biased to the Left cable news organisations, in my opinion, MSNBC, was the organization that gave hard evidence that proved my suspicion. In an article written by Bill Dedman on the 22 June 2007 for MSNBC, he sampled political contributions given by journalists to either Democratic vs. Republican, politicians, parties or political action committees. He found that out of the 143 journalists polled, 125 gave contributions supporting left wing individuals or groups. That is an approximate bias of 90%!
So if the question is, "Is there a bias in mainstream media?", I would have to say, yes.
I won't go into the obvious problems associated with un-balanced journalistic reporting because of this overwhelming bias, but it seems to me like a pretty powerful propaganda machine in favour of the Left.
